Patriotism — The jingoistic notion that one’s country is special. Must be extinguished to make way for today’s Global Village.  

John Lennon — Martyred Beatles singer whose song “Imagine” expresses government education’s dream for the future. [Lyrics to Imagine by John Lennon]  

Hippie — Flower child of the ’60s, into drugs and free love. Now running State Departments of Education.

Multiculturalism — Opposite of patriotism. Emphasis on separate cultures within the nation and world with equal time spent on and value given to each.  

Diversity — Varieties of sexual morals, religious beliefs, cultures, lifestyles. After all, how can we fly an international crew to the next inhabited planet (a.k.a. Star Trek) if we can’t respect diversity?  

Decreased Ethnocentric
Perceptions — The ability to see oneself as a “world citizen.”
