Patriotism — The jingoistic notion that one’s country is special. Must be extinguished to make way for today’s Global Village.  


John Lennon — Martyred Beatles singer whose song “Imagine” expresses government education’s dream for the future. [Lyrics to Imagine by John Lennon]

Hippie — Flower child of the ’60s, into drugs and free love. Now running State Departments of Education.


Multiculturalism — Opposite of patriotism. Emphasis on separate cultures within the nation and world with equal time spent on and value given to each.

— The ability to see oneself as a “world citizen.”
