Compulsory Attendance — Maryland law 7-301 which requires all children aged 5 to 16 to be physically present in school. What we do or don’t do with them while we have them is OUR BUSINESS.

Carnegie Units — Old fashioned notion that children needed so many units of math, science, English, history to graduate from school.

Certificate of Initial Mastery — Replaces old high school diploma based on Carnegie Units. Academics replaced by attitudes. You don’t graduate until you get it right.

Certificate of Advanced Mastery — Same as above, but college level.

Vouchers — Our ace in the hole. Hard-working, sacrificing parents won't be able to resist the free money, even if it means doing things our way. If there's no difference between home schools, private schools and government schools, what's to worry?

Good Parents — People who understand that the government and the experts know what’s best for kids. Useful for providing room and board to students during years of indoctrination. Also useful for making cookies for school parties and other tasks requiring low intelligence.

Phonics — Dangerous method for teaching reading that WORKS! Children taught by this method can read any word they see and many of them become READERS. Note: Readers are difficult to indoctrinate.

Circle of Life — Comforting belief taught to schoolchildren to replace silly ideas about Heaven instilled by parents and church. Alleviates fears of death during Death Education Class. Children learn they become fertilizer to help another living thing. Very comforting.

Man — Polluting animal taking up too much space on Planet Earth. Population needs thinning and curbing.
